....Insight....just checkin in

Im so sick and tired of seeing all the females at my school in the same identical outfits. High waist jeans and Knit caps, a symmetrical bobs which i do love but still. Must everyone bite everyone else's style. Does anyone in my generation have an original thought in their heads anymore. But whatever...
Another thing: I am having true designers block lately...maybe i am not trying hard enough. My pieces are starting to get redundant...
These days in my closet I see Classic Chuck Taylor Converses making a comeback...I guess they really never left the fashion world. I used to loathe low tops but now I think I actually might by a pair of black ones. Oh yeah Big ups to Whitney, the first plus size winner of ANTM.

ANTM is Going Global...

As the proud child of West African parents I am proud that my country is coming up. Americas Next Top Model has gone to Nigeria. I am really glad that they are choosing to focus on African culture in a positive way, rather than the usual poverty stricken and dirty that most of the world has been exposed to. ANTM Nigeria will actually not be a reality series as the other spin offs have been, but an event for all women of Nigerian decent in London. Although it is not as progressive as the other spin-offs i am still happy that ANTM is continuing to help women from all parts of the world achieve there dream of modeling. Trend Alert: Highwaist Jeans, Shorts, and Skirts

For the last probably like six months I have noticed this whole high waist and empire waist thing becoming popular. I had seen it a while before and fell in love with it but never saw them on sale anywhere. Now they have become extremely popular and I see why. They just make people look classy to me especially the pants. You can look professional and regal but at the same time look playful and urban. Those colorful ones fergie have on are so fly. I like the shorts as well because you can still look classy and cute in a pair of shorts because the fact that they are high creates in allusion that they are not that short. But aside from popular belief they do not look great on everybody.

A Couple of Fashion Announcements

"Americas Next Top Model" premiers on The CW tonight so check don't miss it. Also BET's Rip the Runway will air on March 4th, which I'm most definitely excited for. It's going to be hosted by Lauren London and Nelly this year. For those who aren't familiar with the special, it's a huge fashion show/concert that feature established and up and coming urban lines. They also feature a few recording artist who perform during the fashion show. They use amateur models and feature a lines such as Baby Phat and LRG( and a few couture designers).
