Greatness + Greatness = GREATGREATNESS

Lil Mama's New video "Shawty Get Loose"

I am in love with this video. Lil Mama and C.B totally outdid themselves with this one. The video is somewhat reminiscent of Janet Jackson and her brother, Michaels' "Scream". Lil Mama looks gorgeous with her asymmetrical bob and then the long Beyonce weave. Her skin tight leather skinny pants were also pretty fly. And of course Chris Brown looked suave dancing his butt off in his all white suit. Also I loved the neon colors and the crazy atmosphere they created. Anyway that's it for today, Deuces.

BB Dakota

Yet another line I discovered on karmaloop.com. BB Dakota is what can I say, hmm.... a line for the urban collegiate/business women, before and after hours. Now when I say collegiate I mean any woman who takes life as learning experience and is open to new things. Now when I say business woman I mean any woman who is about her business in any situation and than some. They offer very simple but unique pieces. Mainly dresses and jackets. I personally am in love with their jackets. Here are some of my picks:

cool urban fashion clothing
80's style windbreaker bomber

flowy victorian style trench

Model Citizen (#4)

Tiffany Evans, once a contestant, on star search is now all grown up. She came back on the music scene with her first single "Promise Ring" featuring Ciara, and a completely new edgy look. Her angled bob (similar to Rihanna) proved that she was all grown up along with her new punk rock meets R and B soul ensemble. Her wardrobe is very colorful and vibrant consisting of colorful sneakers, trendy necklaces, screen tee's, bold bracelets and earrings, and colorful jackets. She can definitely walk in a room and own it like a rock star with her fabulous wardrobe. Check out her second single "I'm Grown" featuring Bow Wow and her myspace: http://www.myspace.com/tiffanyevansmusic.

.....Fashion Wisdom of The Week....

First addition to the fashion wisdom of the week.....

  • "A good stylist can't be organically creative if they allow themselves to be dictated by fashion trends - Rick Ramsey "
The definition of trend is :The general direction in which something tends to move. Heres my thing with trends, in fashion their of course are trends which some people are afraid to follow because they think it will take the unique vibe out of their style. Well like the definition states fashion does flow in different directions at different times and its OK to flow with it. Following trends is OK as long as a person still stays true to their own personal style. People shouldn't follow certain trends(ex. high waist jeans) if their not really interested in it or think it fly. If they are just wearing something because it's hot than I can't agree with that.

Model Citizen(# 3)

Drake.
If you've ever seen the colt classic Degrassi: The Next Generation than I'm very sure that you have seen this dude Aubrey Graham stage name: Drake. This actor turned rapper from Toronto is making moves on his personal Label A.T.F (All Things Fresh) with his mixtape "Room for Improvement" and CD "Comeback Season". His style is a mixture of urban hip-hop culture and pretty boy preppy. His wardrobe consists of vibrant hoodies, trench coats, sneakers, track jackets, aviator shades and polo's. In his video "Replacement Girl" featuring Trey Songz his wardrobe is impeccable, but not only there even when his just chilling on the street in a white tee he still keeps an original and fly flare. Check him out on Degrassi (The N) and in his video "Replacement Girl", or Trey Songz video "Wonder Woman". The fashion in his video replacement girl is so sick so check it out.

Fysh N' Chicks on Americas Best Dance Crew

Check out these ladies from America's Best Dance Crew. They are a crew named "Fysh and Chicks" from LA and I am most definitely rooting for them to win. Just thought I'd post their this weeks performance and show how they killed it to Beyonces' "Freakum Dress" . Their moves were fly and their dresses were gorgeous too. They usually perform in baggy clothes reminiscent of TLC but still keep a feminine flare . But anyway just though I'd share this with you guys. Check out the show on MTV on Thursday @ 10. Its actually pretty good.

Essence Celebrates Black Designers!

In their February 08' issue Essence is featuring black designers unknown and well known in their article "Black Designers Rule". Some of the designers featured include Kai Milla, Kimmora Lee Simmons, Victor Glemaud, B. Michael, Tracy Reese, and Stephen Burrows. The lines ranged from modern suits and sweaters to stunning gowns. My favorite was a piece by Kai Milla. It was a conservative but sexy beige cocktail dress. Not my usaul urban preppy style but it was simply gorgeous.
Essence also featured many other designers including Christian Luboutin (featured an amazing graffiti print clutch), Jean Paul Gaullier, Donna Karan, Marchesa, and Zac Posen. Real talk its super dope. Hit up Barnes and Noble or something to check it out.

Angela Simmons. You may know her as Rev. Runs daughter but her wardrobe says so much more about her. She rocks different looks from casual to dressy to sporty. She knows how to put outfits together in a unique and clever way and still stand out. Not to mention

she has launched a successful mini mag within the pages of Word Up magazine called Angela Simmons' Rundown. Also shes making moves in the fashion industry with her sister, Vanessa, with their new line of shoes, Pastry. They include a very diverse mix of high top and low top sneakers, gym gear, and super cute tote/gym bags. Her look is daring but trendy and she definitely knows how to coordinate her colors and accessories. Also she always keeps it classy which is most definitely hard to find among young woman celebrities these days. Check out her mag and her line of shoes. Trust me you wont be disappointed.

The New Clique Series Book

It's probably cheesy but I really love "The Clique" by Lisi Harrison. They make some great fashion references and its just a really good book for teens. On February 5th the new one "Bratfest at Tiffanys" went on sale(where all books are sold). I think my fellow fashion lovers and teen book lovers should check it out. The series can be compared to the Gossip Girl series but a little more rated G. It follows the life of a group of rich girls and a transfer from Orlando who is thrusted into their clique. Yeah its cliche but its freakin' awesome. Go to www.jointheclique.com to see a preview of the new book.

Model Citizen(# 1)

Teyana Taylor. This chick is a refreshing site to see when it comes to fashion. Her eclectic and retro tomboyish style was seen for the first time on "My Super Sweet 16", and ever since than I fell in love with her look. She's known for her big jeans and over sized tee's but she still manages to keep a sense of femininity. Her most noted outfit is probably her "Heatherette" dress that she wore to her sweet 16. From her colorful sneakers to her Billionaire Boys hoodies this girl definitely knows how to keep it fresh and clean. For me its the hair. I just love it.If I had hair like that nobody would be able to tell me nothing. Anyway check out her new single "Google Me".

Society Orginal Products...

I discovered this line on karmaloop.com. Society or yteicoS Orginal Products(SOP) is an urban line that depicts the lifestyle of "inner city youth all the way to the... American Politician."(karmaloop.com) I fell in love with it instantly when I saw the Radiocide shirt(Radio Killed Hip Hop, above).Their products can appeal to everyone in every aspect of life, but its still has an exclusive vibe. The unique and creative concepts and punchlines are appealing and are sure to get the wearer noticed.Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West are big supporters of the line and have there own shirt by SOP(f'ing good...)Its truly an original, urban line which is hard to come by these days. I've ordered the MLK shirt and have tried to order the radiocide shirt twice but some bum keeps on snatching them up before I get a chance. Any who they came about in 07' by a couple of dudes named Marcel Angol and Brendan Boyd. According to SOP :"The backwards spelling of "Society" is a statement and reflection of how we all live and function. We believe the rich get richer and the poor stay hustling." I mean just look at the pics above...you cant say this line ain't fresh! Personally I think they're dope because each piece of clothing is making a statement whether political or just a statement of individuality. Before I start getting all flowery Im'a throw the deuces.

Ciara's not the only one who wants to be like a boy

If your a girl reading this you probably think the same things about boys that most girls think! They don't have the cramps and pms, they don't endure the stress of screaming kids, and they get respect for doing stupid things. Yeah all that maybe true but I have to give boyz props they get to have a unique style that girls cant have....or can we?!

It may just be me but I dig the baggy look that boys wear. I think its interesting and I like their gear so I'm finding a way to incorporate this new look I like into what I already like. I've rarely seen females achieve that boyish look with a feminine twist since TLC.

But now I think there are new ways to express this look. My way would be pairing a femine top(metalic bikkini top, halter top, form fitting tee) and slightly baggy jeans, and bright or clean cute sneakers. New comer to the R and B world, Alycia, achieved that with this look.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

As you see she has the boyish look but she still mantained her feminine side by the top and hoody. Also she added a nice top by showing her colorful boxers. Boys tend to accessorize less than girls but the few accessories they do wear stand out. Like wallet chains, colorful shoes, hats, and headbands. Another person I admire for her boyish chique look is Teyana from "My Super Sweet 16". The one with the big hair and skateboard sweet 16. She wore a collection of Billionaire Boys Club, Ice Cream, Nike, and other urban lines.
