Estelle and The Ting Tings at the Brit Awards

The two leading ladies look awesome. And if it wasn't clear before, it's pretty clear now that The Ting Tings are AWESOME. Giving such a great performance and actually playing their own intruments..SHOCKER...how often do we see that at the Grammys, VMAs, or BET Awards.

Social Atelier: Fashionable and Socialy Aware

Inform. Think. Inspire. Feel. Challenge. Innovate. Declare. Truth.
Social Atelier is a line of organic and socially conscious t-shirts started by Andrei Nejjar and Yael Afrait. Sporting lines like "No one wins in war" and "Thailand Pakistan Indonesia New Orleans 2006", the shirts aim to promote awareness of social issues plaguing the world. Not only geographical issues such as war and famine, but also things like body image with the "39 "19 "33 shirt ( my personal favorite), which are Barbie's demensions if she was scaled to human size. Besides being conceived on my birthday a few years ago, Social Atelier is also awesome because it advocates awareness of real issues all while creating a style of their own and contributing to the metamorphisis in urban fashion. %50 of the proceeds from Social Atelier go to support the Solar Cooker Project, a non profit in Darfur that aims to provide a source of income, safety, skill development, and of course a more effecient way to cook food for women and children of the community.

So this is Drake (still Jimmy in my eyes) highly anticipated first video, a prelude to a supposedly awesome album coming in the fall. All I have to say is : wtf! The w-t-f don't even deserve captilization because the video was that drab, boring, and stupid. Now I love Drake and I have been an avid supporter of him since 06' but this video, which by the by was produced by Kanye, is just another excuse to show women with big tits running around with no freakin clothes on. All they did was switch up the club/party atmosphere and trade it in for a gym and a locker room. Not that I expected some great philisophical video with amazing imagery and deep meaning, but with all the hype, his previous musical work, and Kanye on the production team i just expected a little more. Not to mention something a little less low budget looking. I slightly blame it on his recent affiliation with Young Money, ever since he started making records with Wayne about 1.5 years ago his flow changed. The talent and metaphors are still there but the messages and dilivery are different. Hmm...but what can you do? With a guy who praises his girl for being the "fucking best" , what more did I really expect. Still love the song, but I can't support the above foolishness...except the half time speech...the half time speech was indeed funny. toodoloo

So today I went to the scrap exchange looking for some stuff to make a belt with. Eventually I was inspired by some fabric and a bin of 10 cent pins to create my own custom made pins. So with some scraps I purchased including soda can tabs and fabric...along with an old christmas bow I found, I have created some Rosie Schizo Originals. Oh yeah...I made the belt too...but that will come later..lol

So the acrylics had to come off...in this economy even a fill in is too much for my wallet to bare....so for my bare natural nails will be breathing in the summer air for the next few months. while taking that into consideration i compiled a list of colors that i will happily sport this summer. i strayed a little from the basic bright and bubbly colors and as you can see i had fun with polyvore...lol

Ummm...No

Was this her attempt at being more edgy? Well I guess everyone can't switch their style up like Rihanna and come up victorious. Sorry Cas but leave it to Alice.
didn't even know who she was 20 minutes ago, but i must say it works for her...

Model Citizens [# 7]

it's been a while since i paid any attention to this duo. But lately I've been seeing them everywhere and I must say they have come up. With the new eclectic and colorful look and a new style of music i think they have grown on me. One of them dyed their hair that like honey auburn brown color and it looks great. They really looks great on everyone though. But I guess their like hard core now with their sleeve tattoos and "explicit" lyrics. But anywho their new song and new threads are pretty sick. I approve. Check the Mari Ben Ari cameo. P.S I love the shorts one of them is wearing with the pink plaid shirt.

wowza...just found this

New Music

Chester French is Pharells new duo. These cats have an eclectic retro pop/ go go type sound which is pretty sick. Their first single "She Loves Everybody" is pretty good but my favorite is "The Jimmy Choos". Album set to release April 21st.

Shake It To Tha Ground

So this girl with the flamboyant red, orange, and blonde hair goes by the name of Rye Rye. She's a rapper. M.I.A's protege to be exact. Oh yeah and a dancer too. I recently discovered this Baltimore born 17 year old in an issue of one of my random magazines and ofcourse my eyes were drawn to the hair. Eventually I googled her ( i love how thats a verb now) and came upon her myspace. Her rhymes display the innerworkings of a 17 y.o girls mind. Boys, School, Parents, Drama, and she does like to mention how sexy she is once or twice. But any who she's a pretty intresting kid and you can deffinitely tell she is influenced by M.I.A through her clothes. Check her out sometime.

Solange Knowles - TONY

Now you know we love our Solange...Heres her latest video T.O.N.Y. This video is really interesting ...it aired on 106 and Park the other day, but I doubt it will make the countdown because half the audience probably didn't even get it( No offense to them though : ) ). Check out that sick jacket and the heels she's sporting in the beginning. Also it was produced by Va$htie...

Inaugural Beauty

Demi at the Youth Inaugural Ball in a funky but classic black dress.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

As of 12 noon this afternoon Barack Hussein Obama became the 44ty president of the United States. Honestly when this whole thing began I wasn't all that excited. Even when he won the election I wanted to jump around and be ecstatic like everyone else, but for some reason I couldn't. But eventually seeing how this one man has mad people believe in their rights and capability again, and how he's made people love their country again brought me to tears. To see how he has brought people together and restored some peoples sense of America’s creed. Tears actually rolled down my face as I watched and listened to him get sworn in this afternoon. I understand that he is one man, and I don't expect him to develop the magic potion that will cure America of all its problems. I don't expect him to correct all that is wrong with the world and cure the pains and indecency’s of humanity. I don't expect this man to be the best president in our history just because he is half black. But I do expect and hope that as our 44th president this man will do all he can to make America a better place. I hope that he can restore Americas tattered reputation, uplift it, make good decisions for all inhabiting this land, and make me proud to be an American citizen. I'm not sure if I can truly say change starts here, but if it does I hope it doesn't end here. In the end I'm glad that I got to witness a part of history in my lifetime. When it comes to marching with Dr. King, boycotting with Rosa, or a watching sit in live on TV, I will never be able to say I witnessed that. But 50 years from now when people talk about the election and inauguration of the first half black president, I can say I was there.

Kanye looks ridiculous. And he sounded even more ridiculous at the Youth Inaugural Ball.

Michelle looked stunning her gown designed by Jason Wu. It was somewhat simular to Nancy Reagans one shoulderd 1981 Inuagural gown.

The song they performed was beautiful!

Ahh...the 90's...good times

I missed the Wu Tang Clan

The Wu Tang Clan was in Raleigh and I didn't even know about it....I am slacking on my NC social scene...and tickets were only 45 bucks...but Method Man wasn't there though....this would have been a great opportunity for me to be more exposed to their music.
