Social Atelier: Fashionable and Socialy Aware

Inform. Think. Inspire. Feel. Challenge. Innovate. Declare. Truth.
Social Atelier is a line of organic and socially conscious t-shirts started by Andrei Nejjar and Yael Afrait. Sporting lines like "No one wins in war" and "Thailand Pakistan Indonesia New Orleans 2006", the shirts aim to promote awareness of social issues plaguing the world. Not only geographical issues such as war and famine, but also things like body image with the "39 "19 "33 shirt ( my personal favorite), which are Barbie's demensions if she was scaled to human size. Besides being conceived on my birthday a few years ago, Social Atelier is also awesome because it advocates awareness of real issues all while creating a style of their own and contributing to the metamorphisis in urban fashion. %50 of the proceeds from Social Atelier go to support the Solar Cooker Project, a non profit in Darfur that aims to provide a source of income, safety, skill development, and of course a more effecient way to cook food for women and children of the community.
